The Presidential Campaign of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador selected The Mexican People:  Heroes of Democracy as one of just four rotating articles for there English Language front page.  The article was published simultaneously in English and Spanish.   It came to the campaign's attention through a well known US voting rights advocate. There was a formal approval process which included the review of each article on the front page by López Obrador and his senior council. 

After obvious election fraud, Obrador kept his promise to the Mexican people and fought the abundant and election changing fraud used against him.  Thus he became one of the few politicians actually willingly to risk reputation and personal safety by challenging obvious fraud.  Obrador is also living up to another promise by forming a parallel government. 

The Fox - Calderon axis has and will, in all likelihood, continue to be indifferent to the plight of the Mexican people, half of whom live in poverty.  Obrador spoke out forcefully on the federal forces sent to Oaxaca to intimidate, injure, and kill. 

The coverage by US media was also a disgrace. Now we see "guest commentators" carrying on a consistent party line as part of a teardown designed to marginalize Obrador and his democracy movement. As repulsive as this campaign of deliberate disinformation is, one point clear.  The Mexican oligarchy is clearly unsettled by having a strong leader telling the truth in the furtherance of social justice.
